TALYA'S SPECIAL SOFTWARE FOR SUSTAINABLE TOURISM ELEKTRAWEB WILL LEAD THE GREEN TRANSFORMATION
Talya Bilişim, initiating an end-to-end digitalization drive in tourism, will lead 'Green Tourism' with the Elektraweb software. It will be changed to Green Tourism Certificate in 2023. This structure brought by the Safe Tourism Certification program will be permanently implemented from 2023 onwards with the Safe and Green Tourism Certification Program, taking into account the sustainability conditions of the Turkish tourism model. The Elektraweb software developed by Talya Bilişim, which launched the digitalization initiative in the tourism sector, pioneers the green transformation of hotels. While hotels become fully digital with the software, they minimize all their waste and use their resources effectively and efficiently.
Effective resource use
Talya Bilişim Managing Partner Nilüfer Durukal stated that G20 countries have decided on 7 topics regarding tourism and said, "One of them is sustainability, another is digitalization. Serious duties fall to hotel software in both topics." Explaining that they have brought a digitalization initiative in every area of the sector with the end-to-end solutions they offer to the tourism industry, Durukal expressed that the Elektraweb program they developed with the newest web technologies will lead green tourism. Durukal said, "Elecktraweb allows managing a hotel digitally with all its departments, from front office to accounting, room and floor services to restaurant, connections to international sales channels such as Booking and Expedia, personnel, and SPA management. While doing this, it facilitates effective use of resources and control of stock and waste management, which are the two most important topics for sustainability and green tourism. It also reduces hotels' costs, providing savings."
Prevents waste
Giving examples about the management of this process, Durukal said: Web technologies and cloud structure allow the hotel to use the software with minimum hardware and network expenditure. Because in Elektraweb, you don’t even need server systems or computers; you can use the program even from a mobile phone. To enable energy saving in the hotel, we can set the air conditioning use according to the guest's check-in and check-out times. The program turns on the air conditioners just before the guest arrives and adjusts them to the desired temperature. After the guest checks out, it automatically turns them off. Thus, rooms are not unnecessarily cooled, electricity is saved, and unnecessary energy consumption is prevented, protecting the environment. Elektraweb completely eliminates paper use in hotel management. Everything from housekeeping to e-invoice sending is managed digitally and paperlessly. Floor attendants can see the rooms they will clean that day on a simple Android tablet and can instantly update the room status into the system. With e-invoice, e-archive, and soon-to-be-mandatory e-check applications in accounting, the hotel can send and receive invoices completely without paper.
Provides stock-recipe management
Drawing attention to the importance of stock management for hotels, Durukal noted that very good stock control can be done with Elektraweb. Durukal said, "For example, calculating the cost of one portion of food or calculating costs in different measurement units is very easy with Elektraweb. Not only can you calculate the cost of a portion of food in detail, but production can also be done according to the target cost. Even very small amounts can be calculated. In a very large business, that small amount can make a big difference. Therefore, our hotels can use their stocks optimally."
Durukal conveyed that the records of materials in the hotel can be kept very detailed: "All devices in the hotel can be tracked with QR codes. Inside that QR code are all the details, such as which department last used the device, who it is with if there is a technical service agreement, when it started and ended." Highlighting that control is in the hands of the hotel owner with this system, Durukal added, "It also operates at minimum cost in the hotel. At the same time, control becomes easier. Since it also provides waste management, sustainability processes are activated."
Nilüfer Durukal added that Elektraweb is used by over 100 hotels worldwide.
