Teaching Hotel Management Technology to Tourism and Hospitality Students (Hotel-Restaurant Hi-Tech Magazine, November 2019)

Elektra Hotel Management System, developed by Talya Bilişim, a technology producer in the software sector for over 25 years, is used in more than 3,500 large hotels, hotel chains, and accommodation centers across Turkey. Elektra, the most widely preferred hotel management system in Turkey, is taught as a course in 166 educational institutions nationwide, including 23 universities and 143 tourism, hotel management, and vocational schools.

Nilüfer Durukal, Managing Partner of Elektra Hotel Management Systems, noted that especially the new generation of tourism professionals are more tech-savvy and enter the industry already familiar with hotel management technology. She said, “Elektra is taught as a course in vocational tourism high schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education (MEB) and in many universities’ tourism and hospitality faculties, and qualified personnel entering the sector already know it. To reach the new generation, we install and provide our programs free of charge in vocational high schools, vocational schools, and universities. Because we can deliver this training online via Elektraweb, we do not need to use the servers of universities or vocational schools. Every year, 9,000 tourism graduates who have learned Elektra consciously enter the sector.”
