As social distancing becomes the new normal, the tourism industry is also undergoing change and transformation. Talya Bilişim, which develops products for the tourism and hospitality sectors, is facilitating the digital transformation process. Social distancing has become one of the essentials of the new world. From business life to education, healthcare to tourism, compliance with social distancing rules now plays an important role in all aspects of our lives. Talya Bilişim is producing solutions that fit this process. During the pandemic, contactless applications became the biggest aid to tourism facilities that best implemented social distancing rules, which in turn accelerated digitalization across industries.

Talya Bilişim’s Elektraweb, Turkey’s first web-based and most comprehensive hotel management software developed specifically for the tourism sector, is a pioneering solution that brings digital transformation to social distancing through its advanced communication modules. Elektraweb also contains powerful applications for contactless guest experiences and, with its cloud-based structure, provides users with efficiency, profitability, and data security advantages.

With solutions integrated with the hotel management system, guests can use online reservation and online check-in features to complete ID and signature procedures through the system and go directly to their rooms without visiting the reception. They can make restaurant reservations, order food through a digital menu, and complete payment—all from their devices.

Talya Bilişim Managing Partner Nilüfer Durukal states that more than 100 facilities abroad have now switched to Elektraweb, with the primary targets being the African market and Balkan countries. Highlighting their goal to expand internationally with Elektraweb, the leading hotel automation system in Turkey, Durukal notes that they will initially operate through distributors in each country. “Around 60 hotels in Azerbaijan use Elektra. We have new distributors in Macedonia and Romania. Over 100 facilities abroad have already switched to Elektraweb. Our growth strategy involves working through a distributor in each country. Our initial focus is on the African market and Balkan countries. We’re also interested in the American and European markets, which represent the largest hotel pool in the world,” she says.

No Initial Investment Cost

Elektraweb and its desktop version, Elektra V5 Hotel Management System, have a total of 4,500 users. Elektraweb has no initial investment cost. Facilities are spared from expenses like servers, server licenses, antivirus software, and backups, which usually need to be renewed every few years. To use the application, only an internet connection and a smart device—phone, tablet, or computer—are needed. Its mobile accessibility also enables administrative staff to work from home.

Elektraweb consists of modules that manage all departments and operations of a hotel. By selecting modules suited to their needs, facilities can manage operations through a single, integrated program, creating a fast and efficient management flow.

Durukal emphasizes that Elektraweb is Turkey’s first web-based hotel management software that stores data in the cloud. With 23 modules, Elektraweb enables the digital management of all hotel departments—from front office to channel management, online hotel reservations to e-invoicing, procurement to SPA—and is the most comprehensive hotel software in Turkey.

Elektraweb offers customizable solutions for various business models such as boutique hotels, resorts, glamping sites, and restaurants. It is priced on an annual subscription model, allowing users to pay only the license fee for that year.

Hotels in the tourism sector are among the facilities most affected by data breaches. Their possession of both personal and financial information makes them prime targets for cyberattacks. Durukal states: “When you run web technologies on cloud infrastructure, it brings significant savings to businesses. More importantly, it keeps your data secure. Cloud systems are heavily protected and store synchronized copies of data in various global locations to ensure data safety. Moreover, the information processed and stored in Elektraweb is recorded in compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) and the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).”

Operating in the software industry for over 25 years, serving both public and private sectors, Talya Bilişim has offices in Antalya, Ankara, Istanbul, and London, with a 110-person team. The company provides solutions to Turkey’s largest public institutions and firms in the tourism and healthcare sectors, and exports its software abroad. With its software, Talya Bilişim enables users to closely track their financial, operational, and administrative processes in a digital environment, offering quick decision-making and full control through accurate analysis.

Technological advancements such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and the internet of things, which have rapidly entered our lives, are also rapidly changing our habits. These smart technologies are transforming sectors such as hospitality and healthcare. The pandemic has further accelerated digitalization, especially in sectors where consumers prefer minimal contact.

Talya Bilişim, which offers technological solutions for the tourism and healthcare industries, develops pioneering and innovative software that enables facilities to manage operational, financial, and administrative processes from a single platform. With its brands such as Elektra Hotel Management Systems, Medisoft Hospital Management Systems, Kimlikokur (ID Reading and Recognition Systems), Hoteladvisor.net, and iSafe, Talya Bilişim accelerates digital transformation by providing users with quality, efficiency, and profitability.

Training Qualified Personnel

Since 2006, Elektra has been part of the mandatory curriculum in tourism vocational high schools under the Ministry of National Education. Its web version has also gained popularity, now being taught in more than 100 tourism faculties. As a result, around 10,000 qualified personnel familiar with Elektraweb are expected to enter the industry each year.
